Specification of requirements

If you need to prepare an extensive ITT (Invitation to Tender) for your next system, do consider using the Leeves Core Specification as it could save you a lot of effort. IS Oxford was one of the supporters of the development of this specification.

Your library system needn't be a prickly subject!

Heritage is a highly flexible resource and library management software package designed for small and medium sized libraries. It is ideally suited to a wide range of uses. And it will continue to meet your requirements as they change: IS Oxford's team have been developing and supporting Heritage for over 21 years to ensure that it still meets the diverse and changing needs of over 1000 libraries and resource centres that use it.

If you are an existing user looking for help please visit our support website.

We understand that your library is busy and may have limited support from IT. Hence our library management software has not only been designed to require minimal looking after, but any housekeeping can be carried out by library staff not IT keeping you in control. Add to this our excellent support services which are provided at reasonable cost by a team that speaks your language and which include upgrades to the latest version and you can be assured that Heritage will meet your needs, not just now but also in the future.

Heritage is designed and supported by IS Oxford in the UK and has revolutionised library automation in over 1000 institutions.

Heritage is robust, scalable, and adaptable and will cater for both single and multi-site libraries and information centres. It is easy to install and maintain by library staff rather than IT experts. It is also very easy to use, recognising that in many libraries a single member of staff may have to cover a wide range of tasks, some of which may only be carried out once or twice a year.

Our excellent reputation in the library community has been built over many years of a consistently high quality product and service - recent statistics showed that over 90% of general sites that have ever purchased Heritage are still using it. Detailed information about Heritage and IS Oxford can be found on this website, but please feel free to contact our sales team if you would like a full information pack or free on-site demonstration of our system.

Heritage library software includes a wide range of standard and optional modules covering: circulations; issue and returns; reports; periodicals and journals management (serials); acquisitions (purchasing); OPAC and WebOPAC (including book covers and borrower information); advanced bookings; reservations; automatic overdues; fines; leaflet distribution (non-returnable stock); self-service; biometrics; Z39.50 and much more...

We have a separate website, www.heritagesupport.com, which contains FAQs, helpsheets, downloads and manuals for existing users of Heritage.
