Heritage for Theological Libraries
Heritage is widely used in Theological libraries. Following are just some of the reasons why!
- Simple, user-friendly system which requires no technical expertise to administer.
- FREE remote installation of Heritage (or can be installed by local staff in less than 15 minutes).
- Annual support and upgrade costs which are substantially less than for equivalent systems.
- Upgrades can be trialled by creating a copy of your copy of Heritage to a stand-alone to upgrade first.
- A copy of your catalogue can be created in order to provide a training environment or practice global changes/deletions etc.
- Quickcat Online – download catalogue records from the British National Bibliography or Library of Congress directly into the Heritage catalogue record. Alternatively the Theological Heritage User Group supply a combined catalogue of theological library records which can be downloaded.
- Heritage Online – Online version of OPAC and circulation facilities.
- FREE book covers facility, providing book cover images for your catalogue automatically.
- Event Scheduler – Schedule processes such as the creation of reports, sending of overdue notices etc so they are generated automatically.
- Attention to Detail – provides helpful facilities such as URL checker, spellchecker and Dates facility (where reports can be produced outlining administration duties e.g. “all items expiring this week” etc).
- Heritage is widely used in theological libraries, and there is a specific Theological Heritage User Group (THUG) who even provide their own union catalogue online.
- The longevity of both the company and the product, and the excellent customer retention figures we enjoy, are evidence of our good reputation.
- Heritage is specifically designed to provide a clear, uncluttered and user-friendly layout, which we believe is incredibly important to those who use it on a day-to-day basis. We believe that design is often overlooked by our competitors, setting Heritage apart.
- We are committed to development for the future, and the provision of free upgrades to our customers as part of our standard support service.
- We are working on a fully web-based version of Heritage which will be offered as a free upgrade to customers running Heritage Online and with a valid support contract – we are not aware of any other supplier that has done this.
- We offer a portfolio of remote support services, which we can provide securely.
- We provide each customer with a Support Guide, a named support contact who will contact you proactively to ensure you are happy with Heritage and our services.
- We believe that our excellent reputation is proof of our commitment to both our product and our customers, as this can only be attained after many years of a consistently high quality product and service.
“I have always been very pleased with Heritage and the service provided by the staff at IS Oxford. It is a very robust system and the problems are few and far between. If it can be left to its own devices for 24 hours a day throughout the year, including Christmas Day, and can survive our students, then it must be good!”
